Alan and Lee report from the Thetford Winter off Rd Series Rd 1

Alan 7th Vet & Lee 7th in the 4hr Enduro and Mike Smith 3rd in the 2hr Enduro at the first of the four race Thetford Winter off road series.

Much to their surprise they were greeted by sunshine and a relatively dry course as they arrived at Thetford on Sunday morning.

Al Nisbet competes at the British Indoor Rowing Championships

On Sunday 26th I travelled up to Birmingham for the British Indoor Rowing Championships(BRIC) which were being held within the NIA. It was an early start as I had to be there for 0800 to sign on.

Arrived in good time and signed in, the arena was still relatively quiet as the first race did not go off until 0900 followed by my race at 0920.

Team Milton Keynes Mountain Bikers 'Storm' Dusk Till Dawn

With myself and Ceri winning the female pairs, the 3 man team coming 2^nd and Lee and Paul coming 20^th in the men’s pairs, Team Milton Keynes had a great showing at this years Dusk till Dawn despite horrific conditions.

After Ironman Austria I have been struggling to do anything tri related, so to keep myself in some sort shape I start rowing on the Concept 2 five weeks ago.

This weekend I travelled to Newark Rowing Club for an indoor race over 1 mile and 500 metres.

Milton Keynes had a fantastic weekend at The Cheddard Bike Fest with me winning the solo and the mixed team of Simon Cannings, Chris Smith, Ceri Dipple and Alan Coldray comming in 2nd in their category

Jevon O'Neil 25th in Orca Sprint Triathlon at Dorney Lake

The gods were smiling on the morning of Sunday September 15th.

After atrocious weather over the previous weeks the day dawned bright and clear and the Orca Sprint Triathlon got underway at Dorney Lake; the impressive Eton College Rowing Centre near Windsor.

There's been a lot of events since my last report, and most results have been reported elsewhere, but following the recent cancellation of the final NPS round I've now finished my XC race season for 2008.

1st Cat for Mike Wragg

Mike Wragg has now gained his 1st cat licence after a 6th place finish in Surrey.

After testing the local riders with an initial flurry of attacking, Mike settled in to a workmanlike ride with a view to collecting the points he needed in the bunch sprint, which when it came to it was a formality.

Round 10 of the Friday Night Summer Series was hosted by Rugby Velo at Cosford. The 2 mile course was a joy to ride, with singletrack that flowed beautifully between berms that made cornering at speed a delight. Interspersed were short sections of farm track where riders could pass each other comfortably – as long as they had the legs.

Team MK gets 4th out of 85 in the mixed team category at this years Sleepless in the Saddle 24 hour Enduro

Lee Goodman, Steve Torley, Simon Cannings, Alan Coldray and I entered this years mixed category at SITs, what a great idea that was on a sunny day back in March.

This week’s FNSS race took us to a new venue, at Fermyn Woods near Kettering in Northamptonshire. The course was flat and fast, with the only thing really making it technical being the slimy mud which coated the trails in some sections, making staying upright a challenge.
