============================

Dear Geoff,

Unless you have been back to the Chiltern Hundred website recently you may have missed a number of new web pages and announcements.  The key details are set out below.
The website is our principle mean of communicating with you.  More announcements are planned so keep checking for the latest news.
Forum - there is now a Forum for riders to ask or respond to questions, or comment on any aspect of the event.  We hope you will use this to comment on the event your likes or dislikes, especially after the event. We want all your thoughts, criticisms or suggested improvements and each will be considered and may be used for our planning for future years.
To participate you just need to register (free) and the moderator will accept you within 24 hours and away you go.
If you can no longer use your place there is a an opportunity to recycle your place in the Forum - there are lots of people still wanting places.
Services - This sets out what we have organised and will be delivering to you. Best you check so you don't miss anything you may regret missing. This is how we use your entry fee.
Event Fair - This year we plan to have a cycling fair in the main hall of the HQ. The current participants are listed and what they will be offering you. Everything cycling from kit for your stead and your body, through to comprehensive recovery services. Includes the Saddlebag Cafe that will be tempting you with breakfast before, and recovery fluids and home made munchables after your ride.
Standards  - The times for individual performance awards for the Medio and Gran Fondos have now been recalibrated using last years times.
FAQs - We reckon this covers every question we've ever been asked.
Teams Entry - Confirmation of the Teams and who they are. Can be found under Enter Event/ teams.
Look forward to seeing you on the day.
Eddie

===================================================

Individual entries for this popular event are now full but you can still get entry as part of the Team Milton Keynes team.  We have at least 3 now (down from 5) places available until 1st April.

This is the hardest local sportive to Milton Keynes, as you will see from the saw-tooth profile, but very rewarding.  We rode the event when it was first run officially in 2007 when there were only 135 pioneers, and we were almost last!  They expect to sell out with 1,300 this year.

There are 3 distances

Gran Fondo - 107 Miles;  Medio Fondo - 68 Miles;  Corto Fondo - 50 Miles;

Cost is £19

To add a different slant to this sportive the organisers run a team competition.  There are in total 250 places open to teams.  As a result of (now) 9 of us 'individually' entering we were offered a team place which I accepted.  This guarantees us at least another (now) 3 entries to make it up to a miniumum of 12.  We can get more until the total max team members are 250.

The organiser wrote the following instructions on how to enter.

On a separate point entries for the Gran Fondo to the public are now closed as we have reached the maximum.
Team Milton Keynes have 5 further guaranteed places which will be held till 1 April for your riders i.e. to the end of the guaranteed period. However at the moment your riders will be able to enter the event but not select the Gran Fondo.
So if you have further riders that wish to enter please ask them to enter their details, Club and Team name, and pay the fee but select "Corto Fondo" route. Please advise me of these team riders(up  to maximum of 5): name and route they would like to ride - Gran or Medio (as I expect the Medio to run of places shortly) and I will reassign them to the correct route.
As a number from your team/club have entered already as individuals I wanted to ensure you were aware that we are running a Teams event again this year for entrants in the Gran or Medio Fondos. If you would like to enter as a team send me an email with your details (team captain - Geoff Perry)  and number of entries you would like. We have 250 guaranteed places for team riders, but are fast running out of spaces. We guaran tee up to 12 places per team until we reach the 250 limit, and teams get a  free team photo and team awards with a certificate . I particularly need to know if you will require more spaces than the 7 who have entered so far.
Nb; This will not affect your existing confirmed entries, it is simply a way of guaranteeing up to 12 spaces.
I will be riding this at a comfortable pace as I will have ridden a 50 or 100 TT the day before, and equally I will be playing super-domestique to my team leader Philippa.  Consequently if anyone wants to join the 'autobus' then you are more than welcome to take our wheels.  We'll most probably be taking 7-8 hours to give you a guide and climbing seated like snails (but persistent snails) in 30/27.
