I am getting in touch to let you and your members know about the OrchidCycle Essex rides taking place on the 14 June 2009. This great family day out takes place at Lake Meadows Park in Billericay, Essex, with four routes; 20 miles, 40 miles, 75 miles and the 100 miles cyclo-sportive challenge, meaning that there’s something for everyone. Cycle through rural Essex, and then join us for some family fun including BBQ, beer tent, live band, face painting and a bouncy castle. You’ll also receive certificate and medal to show that you have completed the challenge. For more information and to book places, please visit

Orchid is the only UK registered charity to focus on all three male-specific cancers; namely prostate, testicular and penile cancers. We fund research and awareness into these diseases with the aim of saving men’s lives. It’s a cause that’s often overlooked for support but through the London to Paris ride we hope to raise over £30,000 for our work as well as raise much-needed awareness.
As a very small charity we keep our overheads down and avoid paying large advertising costs. We’re therefore hoping you can
help to promote this event to your members by forwarding on this email or even displaying posters and flyers within the club which we can send out to you on request.
I do hope that you will be able to support Orchid and our work fighting male cancer and thank you so much in advance. If you have any further questions about the ride or Orchid then please don’t hesitate to contact me.
With best wishes
