Simon Cannings was 3rd with a time of 21-05 which set up TMK for the team prize, with Kevin Stokes & Ian Marshall winning the Tandem event with 21-06, despite the chain coming off again!  Simon was one place ahead of that Time Trialling legend Ian Cammish, which is a good scalp to get, and also ahead of Brian Phillips, who rode the Breckland 12 hour - that obviously implies that Simon should be able to do 260+.

It was a close call for Kevin & Ian in more than one way.  Their time of 21-04 was just 3 secs in front of the pairing of Jeremy Mulkern & Richard Moule and the other 2 tandems less than 30 seconds back from them. Mind you Ian Marshall turned up at the race sporting a number of stitches in his lips (which was still weeping a bit) and bruising and severe swelling on his face after having a head-on on his bike this morning! He came around a corner on a Redway to meet someone coming the other way... Smack... and alot of broken vodka bottles (secrets out now Ian)!.  Buckled front wheel and a 90 minute round trip to A&E.  Thanks to Thomo for some of this information. In addition, the chaps unshipped their chain whilst motoring along in the 62 x 11 (again!) and had to stop to untangle it on the outward leg, to be some 20 seconds down to Jeremy and Richard at the turn...

Richard O'Rourke 1st in 20:22, Stu in 2nd in 20:59 & Simon 3rd in 21:05. Matt Passenger 22-06 (will go alot quicker in TMK kit!) and Andy Sharman 22-18 backed up Simon in the team competition.  Yvonee Gurney did a 25-15 and Clive Faine a 24-36l. Jason Gurney DNS as he was saving himself for the Beckland 12 hour the following day.

Paul Thomson said " It was hard both ways - slightly harder on the way out. It felt like a headwind. Then you turned, thinking it would be great back.... but it wasn't - it felt like a crosswind for most of it so not fast at all. But many people did good rides and despite being hard it wasn't actually slow."

A few 2nd claim TMKers rode and were photographed, and I have included their times above 'as a favour'..
