TT Result: VTTA 30m Nat Champs - Vets Record for Geoff Perry
Geoff Perry rode the VTTA 30m National Championship and although he didn't come back with any prizes he did break his own club vets record with 1-09-46, which was really the main objective.
The course was the fast (when it's not windy) E2/30, which is basically an extended E2/25 down to the Macdonalds's RAB. The sky was clear blue which made it hard to assess how windy it was, and from which direction.
As usual it was breezey, but not as windy as the last 2 events he has ridden on this course, with a direct head wind on the way out but help on the shorter return leg.
Overall he was 17th fastest on time, behind the winner Peter Balls (1-03), and just faster than other welknown (but older testers) John Woodburn & Roger Queen.
But the name-of-the-game for Vets is time against standard where, he came equal 31st, but fortunatly John Woodburn came up trumps on standard otherwise we would all be off to buy a trike, where they get a generous age allowance (11 years?). The trio of Trikes came 2nd, 4th & 8th with none of them beating 1-20!
