MTB: Thetford Winter Series Rd #1 Lynne 2nd, Simon 4th, Katherine 6th

Lynne Coldray was 2nd in the 4hr women's race and Katherine Dilks was 6th in the 2hr version, and Simon Cannings was 4th in the 4hr over 40s.

Lynne reported on a great day out for Team MK in the Thetford Winter Series Round 1.

Sunday saw the 1st round of the Thetford off road winter series. On what was forecasted to be one of the wettest Sunday's of the year we certainly weren't let down as we arrived to rain and wind. The weather didn't seem to put many off with a packed field about 550 riders across all categories.

The course was typical Thetford, flowing single track through the forest, fire roads and a couple of grinding climbs. However it certainly wasn't the usual fun fast single track as more riders went round, the mud got stickier and the lap times slowed down as it got harder and harder, with bikes getting heavier, chains sucking and the riders getting tired. The weather did brighten up for the final lap of the 4 hour allowing for an easier lap.

All the team MK riders were pleased with there results, Katherine's first race, Simon first mountain bike venture for a year and Lynne's first Thetford 4 hour.

The second round is on Dec 6th.
