Lynne wins Thetford 4 hour MTB
Team MK did well at Thetford's Winter Series with Lynne Coldray winning the 4hr category by 15 mins!
Not sure if that makes sense but Lynne reports from the mud....
The 3rd round of the Thetford winter series took place yesterday (Sun 24th ), it had the potential to be a mud fest with the recent weather conditions however the course held up really well and was one of the best I have ridden there.
In true Thetford style the course was a mixture of fire road and sweeping single track, the single track was superb the designers had done really well to include all the best bits.
Once the race had started it quickly became apparent it was going to be between Bernie Wolffe and myself, I was faster on the single track and she better on the fire road, we crossed the line together at the end of lap 1, she had lap 2 as she pulled away early on and I really thought she was gone but I kept on pushing, lap 3 I caught her on some single track and once again we crossed the line together this time it was my turn to pull away. I looked round and couldn’t see her but there was still 2 hours to go so I just kept pushing myself. I daren’t stop to get a new bottle worried that I would get caught. I came across the finish line to win by 15 mins, probably one of the best and most enjoyable races I have ever ridden.
Other team Mk riders:
